Standish913.com has been blessed to do an exclusive interview with...
"KAMEECHI"!

Let's get into some exclusive questions...
STANDISH: Let's start off strong. What inspired you to become a voice actor?
KAMEECHI: I've always resonated to everything creative, coming from a family who would always gather to watch movies, having talent competitions which later developed into me becoming music artist. Through my 15+ years of experience in the music industry and love for cinematic art, I decided to take on voice-acting, transferring all the audio knowledge I knew to the new form.
STANDISH: With that being said, you voiced "Race Organizer" in "Grand Theft Auto V", tell us how you landed this awesome role...
KAMEECHI: Honestly, I didnt know what I was auditioning for at the time but I got a role under a code title in which I could talk like I was talking to a friend and it felt smooth & fluid. Next thing I know, I see I got booked for Rockstar Games. Instantly, mind-blown.

STANDISH: You voiced "Cloak" in "Marvel Rivals" video game, can you tell us more?
KAMEECHI: It was a big deal when I got the audition for cloak & seen how the likeness was already there. I immediately dived into research on the character, as much as you can within 24 hours lol. I was already a big Marvel fan so it was easy for me to adapt. I've heard of cloak & dagger but just recently started seeing more context in the characters, mainly from their television appearances.
STANDISH: How does it feel to be apart of the Marvel legacy?
KAMEECHI: It feels nothing less than amazing. Like I said, I was already a huge Marvel fan so something like this was a check off the bucket-list. I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity and still till this day have those moments when I'm like, I'M REALLY IN MARVEL!
STANDISH: You worked with Grubhub, can you tell us more about this project?
KAMEECHI: The grubhub commercial was early in my voiceover career. I was learning new subtleties within the craft & didnt expect to get a something like Grubhub. The session was fun, bringing out a lighter side of me and allowing me to test my range as a VO actor. Then when I finally seen the complete commercial, it was amazing, not to mention I had no idea it would go viral like that.
STANDISH: What’s your process for getting into character when recording?
KAMEECHI: It's pretty short & simple but honestly, each session I make sure there is one important thing present. My full fledged uninhibited imagination.
STANDISH: Which character has been the most fun or meaningful to voice? Why?
KAMEECHI: I'm going to have to say Cloak. I mean, I basically got to play myself, even down to the look & what he fights for.
STANDISH: Can you share a funny or surprising moment from a recording session?
KAMEECHI: A cool story about an audition I had done that really surprised me was when I had to do a role and use a british accent. Now, I've always played around with the accent since I was young so I thought I was a little decent at it. So, I complete the audition & get a callback for it to do my audition again because the company was interested. After sending my second audition in, I second in the running to starring in AAA video game. THAT game turned out to be Baldurs Gate 3 & the character I audition for was Wyll. I was MIND-BLOWN, first I was already playing the games early access and second I didn't think my accent was impressive enough to be considered to play that role. So yea, surprising moment for sure fo me.
STANDISH: What's on Kameechi's playlist?
KAMEECHI: I compliment my moods when I listen to music, I don't like digesting just one flavor. My current playlist consist of NxWorries(Anderson Paak), Surf Curse, Schoolboy Q, Vince Staples, Tame Impala
STANDISH: Being from Queens, what's your 3 favorite things about it?
KAMEECHI: Being someone who's live in the city and the county in multiple states, it's funny how I feel like Queens is it's own state sometime. We got city vibes, then all of a sudden big townhomes like you in the county, then you can even go to Astoria by the water like it's a whole other place but it's all still queens & that's not even bringing the food & culture in. I'm sorry but somebody gotta argue with me, Queens is the best borough!
STANDISH: Witth that being said, DMC of RUN DMC is the face of Standish913, are you a RUN DMC fan???
KAMEECHI: Oh, of course! That's one of the foundations of the Hip-Hop vibe! The synergy shown definitely had a deep effect on me. Starting my music career with my brothers, we studied RUN DMC like an assignment. Till this day their music still has the same effect on me. That's what you call truly timeless.
STANDISH: if you could pick 1 role, any role to voice, what it be?
KAMEECHI: It doesn't exist yet but I would love to voice Bell Zettifar, in the upcoming Star Wars The High Republic era. I've been reading the books and that character is giving me the same feel I had when I got the Cloak role. Again, it may never happen but if it DOES, know I'm somewhere sharpening my sword.
STANDISH: What can we look forward to in the future from you?
KAMEECHI: You can look forward to a world of high quality audio, complimented by upcoming short films, animated series and advertisement. Look forward to me combining the worlds of entertainment, music, film, live performance to deliver an experience like no other.
STANDISH: Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
KAMEECHI: I see myself and my mind still being free and uninhibited, continuing to provide the world with an honest & exciting experience
STANDISH: Who are some of your mentors?
KAMEECHI: My mentors aren't in the traditional sense. I could have nature teach me, a loved ones experience teach me, or a stranger I'll never meet again give me the same traits & tips a mentor would. I'd say the laws of the universe & nature are my biggest mentors. Everything else follows up and compliments the teachings.
STANDISH: Top 3 things on your bucket list?
KAMEECHI: Getting to star or support a Star Wars project, going to Japan and going tech crazy, eating different cultures of food in their origin countries.
STANDISH: Anything you'd like to include?
KAMEECHI: New EP releasing July 18th! Look forward to that high quality audio I mentioned!
