Standish913.com has been blessed to do an exclusive interview with...
"DEVAN BLAKE JONES"!

Let's get into some exclusive questions...
STANDISH - When did you first start to sing? What was your favorite thing to sing?
I first started singing in church as a child. I used to love to sing “Rachel Lampa” and “Plus One” songs in church back then. I was definitely a pop kid when it came to the music I was most drawn to at that time.
STANDISH - What is your go-to genre to pick from when you have to preform?
That’s an interesting question. I love all kinds of genres of music. If I really think about it, I’ve pulled so much of my style from so many types of different experiences throughout my lifetime. Anything that tells a story or has a melody that moves me is typically what I go for when performing. My goal is to one day mainly perform my original music.
STANDISH - Do you have any warm-up rituals?
I usually will take a shot and then turn on music from one of my favorite artists and dance around and lose focus for a bit. Even if it’s just 2 mins.
STANDISH - Who are your top 3 idols?
Stephen Jenkins from 3eb
Chester Bedingfield
Tori Kelly
STANDISH - If you had to pick an artist to be stuck on tour forever with, who would it be?
For forever?! If I HAD to choose, I suppose Linkin Park or Evanescence
STANDISH - Do you have a favorite piece of advice Nick Jonas gave you?
Probably to continue to work hard. Giving it everything you’ve got…that type of mentality is what I remember him driving into me the most.
STANDISH - Ever had a microphone die on you mid-performance?
Absolutely I have! Most singers have. It’s our worst nightmare but also kind of a test to your professionalism. Just keep singing.
STANDISH - Where is your favorite place to travel to when singing?
I don’t have one right now. But one of my dreams is to go on tour with a tour bus across some states. Something about being on the road for me is so freeing and satisfyingly nostalgic than just flying everywhere to play shows.
STANDISH - What did you learn the most from your time on NBC's "The Voice"?
To first trust my gut. So many things tested my faith in myself within the process. I got to a point where I knew when I was giving a good performance (whether that be for a stage rehearsal or the actual taping), or a not so good performance. I also learned how to be more self aware because the spotlight was ON.
STANDISH - What was the most nerve racking part of being on "The Voice"?
The whole process was nerve wracking for me lol
STANDISH - Would you ever want to switch from singing to something else? If so, what would that be?
I’ve always wanted to be an actor. That’s something I’m waiting for the right opportunity to dive into. But I’d love to be in a romantic comedy or a horror movie!! Haha
STANDISH - What's something about you most may not know?
I won the “Parker Days Country Festival” years ago when I was maybe 19 years old. It was a country contest at the local town fair and if you won, you got 800 bucks! There were about 18 singers. I sang God Bless The Broken Road by Rascal Flatts. It was kind of a shock but I used to LOVE country music a lot more than I’d say I do today. It definitely has an influence on some of my singing stylistically here and there.
STANDISH - How many relationships did you gain from The Voice & which is the most meaningful to you?
A lot of us keep In touch on socials and we’ll text still on occasion. To me it’s been a beautiful experience sharing stages with contestants after the show was over. I performed with Dana Monique and Connor Christian a few times.. Those experiences were such full circle moments every time.
STANDISH - What's it like being in the same room as all 4 superstar judges?
It felt like talking to people who “get me” on a whole different level. It’s like playing baseball in front of babe Ruth. You hope to hit a home run because you definitely feel seen and heard very closely by each of them.
STANDISH - What are your social links?
Instagram : @devanblakejones

STANDISH - Anything else you'd like to include?
I’m currently working on my first full length album. I released the first single back on 10/31 “Skeletons”. I have a new single coming out in the next couple of weeks called “Bm2L”. It’s the only cover song being released on my album.
