My name is Christopher J. Standish JR. I am completely innocent of the charges that led to my arrest in another country. Yet, I was locked up and spent 56 days inside Canada’s largest and most dangerous remand centre, (#ERC) Edmonton Remand Centre, while being a US citisen that is legally blind.
I was taken away from my life, my loved ones, and my freedom for something I did not do. Each day inside felt like a punishment for a crime I never committed. I lived with fear, humiliation, and emotional pain that no one should endure without cause.
I share this statement to make it clear: I was wrongfully detained. I want my name cleared, my rights respected, and for no one else to go through what I went through.
I AM INNOCENT. NO EVIDENCE IN THIS WRONGFUL DETENTION.
