EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Taylor Gang's Super Producer "TM88" Collective "Crash Dummy Record's" Own "SID"...

Standish913.com has been blessed to do an exclusive interview with...

"SID"

Let's get into some exclusive questions...

STANDISH: You recently helped produce "SUPPOSED TO BE LOVED" featuring DJ Khaled, Lil Baby, Future & Lil Uzi Vert, how'd you land this incredible project?

SID: Dj Khaled had hit up TM88 to work on a sample. The sample came from the song “P.Y.T.” by Michael Jackson.

TM then went ahead and got the 3 of us (Mac, Slo & Myself) to work on the sample with him. We didn’t expect

Dj Khaled to put Lil Baby, Future & Lil Uzi Vert all on one record. It was definitely a shock, but exciting to see the outcome of the song.

STANDISH: You recently helped produce "Dead Last" featuring Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Vory, & Fabolous, tell us more about this one & where the inspiration came from...

SID: The beat was actually started by a fellow producer, friend of ours, B. March. With the help of another producer Kid Wond3r, they were able to lay down the foundation of the beat. This beat had an emotional, story telling vibe, so I wanted to keep that same feeling throughout the beat with the elements I added.

STANDISH: You recently helped produce "Peace & Love" by Wiz Khalifa, can you tell us more?

SID: With this project, we took more of an Indie Rock/Pop type direction. At the time we were working on a lot of Indie, Alternative Rock beats. Experimenting with new sounds, really just expanding our music production into different genres. This beat in particular was one of my favorites to work on.

STANDISH: Being under Super Producer TM88's "Crash Dummy Records" group, what does it feel like knowing you have a great team behind you?

SID: It feels great to be a part of such a talented collective. Each producer on Crash Dummy has their own unique sound. So it’s great to be able to collaborate amongst them. We really feed off of each other. And of course, it’s a blessing and honor to get to work alongside TM88. He’s a great leader, innovator and inspiration to say the least.

STANDISH: If you could work with one artist, who would it be?

SID: I have several artists that I’d like to produce records for; Drake, Rihanna, Kanye West, Post Malone, Arianna Grande, Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars & SZA.

STANDISH: Out of all the records you've done thus far, what's been your favorite?

SID: My favorite record so far that I’ve helped work on is “Red Moon” by Lil Uzi Vert. We knew the beat was something special before Uzi had even heard it. We were sitting on it for months and ended up sending the beat to Uzi later on in the year. He dropped the music video on Christmas Day, 2023. And released the single on all platforms a few days later. This record was what the world needed from Uzi. Anyone can relate to this song because there’s such a universal message being told.

STANDISH: How old were you when you first realized you wanted to do what you do today?

SID: I didn’t start making beats until I was 21, but I’ve always had this love for music, even at an early age. My late Mother showed me a lot of different types of music as a child. Daft Punk’s “Homework” was the first album my Mother ever gave to me when I was 7 years old. So her showing me such a diverse collection of music really plays a big part in my music production.

STANDISH: Where do you find your motivation to be great?

SID: My main motivation to be great is my Son. God is another motivation of mine. Also my friends and peers who I work closely with.

STANDISH: Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?

SID: In 5 years from now, I hope to have fulfilled some of my goals. Working with top artists, changing the sound of music. Being a big influence to other producers. And continue to create hit records with Crash Dummy.

STANDISH: Being in this crazy busy industry, what does Sid find a relaxing day as?

SID: Spending time with my son. Kicking back and binge watching movies and shows. Learning new ways to advance my music production skills.

STANDISH: Who are some of your mentors?

SID: My mentors would have to be TM88 & my manager, friend, Spiiker. They’re actually best friends. They both have given me knowledge about how this music industry works, from the good and bad. I really value everything that I’ve learned from them.

STANDISH: During COVID, we all faced struggles, what was one of your main struggles?

SID: I was laid off from work during that time. So that kind of put me in somewhat of a struggle. The good that came out of it was that I was able to put more time into making beats. I ended up getting signed to Crash Dummy during COVID. So everything ended up working out in the end.

STANDISH: What advice would you give upcoming creatives like yourself?

SID: My advice is to be as creative as you can and have fun with it. Get out of your comfort zone and try to create something you’ve never done before. Always think outside of the box!

STANDISH: Where can fans find your beats?

SID: You can find all of the records I produced, along with upcoming records on my IG page.

STANDISH: Anything you'd like to include?

SID: CRASH THE WORLD! C$D
