EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Inspiring Entrepreneur "Janey Carter" Sits Down With Standish...

Standish913.com has been blessed to do an exclusive interview with...

"JANEY CARTER"!

JANEY: My name is Janey and I am 23. I am an entrepreneur and a hard worker. I am a happy person, always smiling and I like to make other people smile.

STANDISH: You are an entrepreneur at it's finest just like myself, tell us more about how you got into entrepreneurship...

JANEY: I had a car accident in 2017. My spinal cord was damaged which caused me to be partially paralyzed from the neck down. I have always loved to paint, but after my accident, I learned how to be creative in a different way. 3 years after it I learned how to make greeting cards.

It was close to Mother’s Day and the stores were closed because of covid. I wanted to make something people could order online. I made little cards with bible verses on them. I sold more than I expected and people were excited to have a card made by me. So next I made Father’s Day cards and birthday cards. Things continued to be successful so I just kept going!

STANDISH: You own an amazing small business called "Paper By Janey", tell us more...

JANEY: I make greeting cards! Everything from birthdays, holidays, sympathy cards, thank you cards, and so much more! And if you can’t find it, I can make it for you (custom@paperbyjaney.com)

Paper by Janey has the highest quality cards, most unique designs, and lowest prices! Ya can’t beat that!

STANDISH: I'm a visually impaired, one-eyed Entrepreneur and thriving daily for success no matter what... In your case, you have a spinal cord injury, would you say this has stopped you from achieving your dreams at all?

JANEY: Before my accident, I had big dreams of joining the Air Force after graduating high school. The thought of joining fueled my passion for adventure and traveling. I had filled out the paperwork and signed up.

So yes, a spinal cord injury stopped me from achieving those dreams. However, it didn't stop my ambition or determination.

I've learned to adapt, discovered new passions, and found alternative ways to contribute and make a difference. While one dream may have been altered, my resilience and drive remain strong, allowing me to make new aspirations and accomplishments.

It’s important to remember that life often takes unexpected turns, but I believe in the power of determination and adaptability. And I believe that no matter what you go through, God has a purpose for you and good can come from it.

STANDISH: Tell us a little about your overall mission, Janey -

JANEY: I hope my cards bring a little bit of happiness to each person that gets one. I hope when people hear my story, I encourage them and show them that, no matter what anything is possible!!!

STANDISH: What can we look forward to in the future from you?

JANEY: I am always working on new cards! So, stay tuned to keep up with new designs.

Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday to make cards for, and I have already started working on them!

STANDISH: Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?

JANEY: I hope to see Paper by Janey bigger than ever!

STANDISH: During COVID, we all faced struggles, what was one of your main struggles?

JANEY: I have an incomplete spinal cord injury, so I actually have a lot of movement. Over the years, it has been a constant effort to get stronger.

Before COVID, I was in the gym almost everyday, gaining a ton of strength. When the gyms closed down because of it, I quit working out as much, and lost a lot of my progress.

STANDISH: Where can customers purchase your cards?

JANEYpaperbyjaney.com

STANDISH: What advice would you give another upcoming entrepreneur?

JANEY: First of all, each journey is unique, don’t compare yours to anyone else’s.

Also, getting everything figured out can be overwhelming. Take it one day, one step at a time. Set small goals so you have a sense of accomplishment along the way. Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements.

Lastly, learn from your mistakes and use them as stepping stone toward success. Every setback is an opportunity to grow and improve.
