EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Actor "Marieh Delfino" From "Jeepers Creepers 2" Sits Down With Standish...

Standish913.com has been blessed to do an exclusive interview with...

"MARIEH DELFINO"!

Let's get into some exclusive questions...

STANDISH: You played "Rhonda" in "Jeepers Creepers 2", tell us how that felt and also how you landed that role?

MARIEH: I auditioned for a different role and Victor said you're more of a "Rhonda". So they gave me new sides and I had like 5 min to go outside, prepare and come back in. Luckily, I just let it fly and nailed it. Booked the role in the room.

It felt really good to land that role. It was all very exciting and exhilarating. It was amazing to land a studio film so early in my career. I felt really grounded in the role. It just sort of fit like a glove, right from the audition. Victor also really trusted me to improvise here and there and that was very affirming as an actress.

STANDISH: Tell us a little about your overall mission, Marieh -

MARIEH: I think at its core acting and storytelling is something that is very healing and very necessary. It allows us to attach meaning to all the events of our lives. It’s how we pass on history, it helps us to have empathy towards others that in real life we wouldn’t necessarily relate with. It helps us to better understand ourselves and what we're going through and likewise have more empathy when we see our struggles reflected on screen, or on stage, or in a book. Story telling brings people from all cultures, circumstances and generations together.

My mission is to entertain, help heal and bring people together through my characters and the stories I'm telling. And keep doing that till my last breath.

STANDISH: The outfit that you wore in "Jeepers Creepers 2", did you keep it after set? If you kept it, do you still have it, 20 years later?

MARIEH: I kept it up until very recently. I hired a stylist to help me purge my closet and she made me give it away.

STANDISH: When you worked with Victor Salva, director of "Jeepers Creepers", what was that experience like?

MARIEH: It was a wonderful, easy and smooth experience. Victor had a vision and gave clear directions but also gave his actors a lot of trust. I felt like I was with someone who had a steady hand at the helm. He was also very warm and encouraging to all the actors. He was a pleasure to work with.

STANDISH: How does it feel to be an inspiration in the Horror community?

MARIEH: It’s an honor that I don’t take lightly and feel very blessed to be a part of this community. And it's also really fun!

STANDISH: You played "Claire" in "The Invitation", what was the set atmosphere like?

MARIEH: Fabulous. One of my favorite experiences to date. It felt like theater camp. Everyone worked really well together and were really dedicated to their craft. A very collaborative and also playful experience.

STANDISH: Out of all your work, what's been your favorite set to work on and why? Least favorite?

MARIEH: My favorite set to work on was THE INVITATION because of the collaboration and how much everyone was into what we were there to create. I would say my hardest but still wonderful experience was working on the Z-burbs set. Only because I was very pregnant and extremely nauseous but everyone there took such good care of me and were all really kind and lovely to work with.

STANDISH: What can we look forward to in the future from you?

MARIEH: I did a supporting role in a film called THE WOMB right before the strike, which should be out in about a year. And a SAG waiver internet series during the strike called FREE BIRD. And am currently finishing a short film that I produced and also starred in called ALL PAID FOR. Hopefully, the actors' strike will be over very soon and you can see me in more films and television. Maybe I'll do another play in the meanwhile.

STANDISH: Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?

MARIEH: Having some really amazing, new work under my belt. Would love to be on a great series that's been going several seasons.

STANDISH: Who are some of your mentors?

MARIEH: Howie Deutch director/producer, Anne Goursaud editor/director/writer, Al Mancini Actor and coach, John Markland coach/writer/director

STANDISH: During COVID, we all faced struggles, what was one of your main struggles?

MARIEH: Seeing how tough re-emerging into preschool after months away from other children was on my already shy, four year old boy.

STANDISH: Where can fans find your work?

MARIEH: I think most of my work is up on the streamers, all on different platforms and it changes but you can just google the film and find where to stream it.

STANDISH: Anything you'd like to include?

MARIEH: Happy and grateful to be a part of this.
