What is your brand's name?
Hojbob Productions
Where are you located?
We're located in Council Bluffs, Iowa right next to Omaha Nebraska.
What do you guy's do exactly?
We Make low budget horror, comedy, and sci-fi independent films.
Tell us a little about your overall mission -
Our mission is to make the kind of movies we grew up loving and seem to be few and far between these days. The movies from the 80's and 90's that had the three B's Blood, Breasts, and Beasts.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years we plan on branching out to more conventions across the country with more titles for sale. I'd like to make at least 2-3 movies per year and hopefully start our own streaming service.
Who are your mentors?
I've always been drawn to movies by directors like Lloyd Kaufman, Charles Band, John Waters, and Frank Henenlotter to name a few.
What are you currently working on?
Right now we are crowdfunding and about to start filming a movie called Lust, Magic, and the Witches' Sabbath starring Ari Lehman from Friday the 13th, Ivy Smith from Attack of the 50 Foot Cam Girl, Morrigan Thompson from Debbie Does Demons, and Raven Foyt from Babezilla vs the Zombie WHorde. It's a story about a modern day witchy girl who finds herself in a coven of old school witches who sacrifice humans and summon the devil.
During COVID, we all faced struggles, what was one of your main struggles?
Well it's not easy to make movies without people. They are collaboration art pieces and need plenty of people to contribute. I worked around this in two ways. First I made a short film with my wife and kids called Dad Made Eggs where I lay a big goose egg then fry it up and feed it to my kids. Then I made a movie where I had people send me clips of themselves going stir crazy and doing weird stuff while in isolation. That one is called COVIDeo 2020 a Descent into Madness and it's currently on Tubi.
Where can fans find your films?
DVD's and digital downloads can be found on hojbob.com. As for streaming, the best place would be TromaNow. They have pretty much everything we've made other than our latest short film Attack of the 50 Foot Sphincter from Space which you can find on YouTube. Other than that we're streaming on a variety of channels like Mometu, Plex, Tubi, Amazon Prime and many more.
