INTERVIEW - The King Of Rock Darryl "DMC" McDaniels Started With A Dream...

Standish913.com has been beyond blessed to have done an interview with the legend himself...

DARRYL "DMC" MCDANIELS!

Here's our official interview -

What is your name?

Darryl "DMC" McDaniels

Where were you raised? Your age?

I grew up in Hollis Queens, New York.
I’m 57 years old.

What is your biggest strength? What about weakness?

Creativity is my biggest strength!
Sweets is my weakness!

What keeps you motivated on the daily?

The opportunity to create things to inspire others and change the world.

In 2022, what projects are you currently working on?

I just released the first book in a series of children's books. It’s called "Darryl’s Dream" and it’s out now. I have new music coming soon! A digital release and vinyl LP called "America".
"Ghetto Metal" the song and video is out now on YouTube. It’s Rrrrrockin!!! I’m also starting a cookie company called "Darryl Makes Cookies"! And I will be producing a film on my life called "Treaty Of Asunder"! It’s one of the greatest films ever!

What would you say your favorite project over the years has been?

My favorite project over the years is probably my comic book company, Darryl Makes Comics! I’ve loved comic books since I was a kid and now I can create my own just like Stan Lee!

Who are some of your mentors?

I learn a lot from being around musicians and artists that I look up to! It was a childhood dream to become "The King Of Rock" and I was inspired by the music of the 60s and 70s! Now it’s the band called "Jackyl" and the band called "The Royal Machines" that I call my mentors! They show and teach me how to Rock n Roll and still just be Darryl!

What is some advice you could give us younger generations trying to come up in this industry?

Don’t do what everyone else is doing! Bring a new sound feel and vibe!

Be a good honest generous person and live up to the responsibility of the position you are trying to be in!

During COVID, we all faced struggles, what was one of your main struggles?

I visit a lot of schools when I’m not touring or at comic cons, so it was hard not being able to connect with the schools, principals, teachers and students. We all inspire each other and those interactions are so necessary.

Where can fans find your latest projects?

My children's book, "Darryl’s Dream"  is available everywhere books are sold and on www.Amazon.com/YoungDMC

My comic book "DMC", is at comic book stores or online.

The new songs that are out…
One called "America" is on all music streaming platforms. And "Ghetto Metal" is on all platforms and the video is on YouTube.

Anything you'd like to include?

Get ready for lots of fun and really really kool stuff!

What are your social links?
